Abrasive grit blasting, or sand blast cleaning, is a surface treatment process widely used in a variety of different industries with many diverse purposes. Abrasive blasting is the process by which an abrasive media is accelerated through a blasting nozzle by means of compressed air.

What is the difference between industrial coatings and regular paint (house paint)?

An industrial coating is a paint or coating defined by its protective, rather than its aesthetic properties, although it can provide both. The most common use of industrial coatings is for corrosion control of steel structures such as offshore platforms, bridges and underground pipeline.

We provide all aspects of any shop applied Industrial Coatings, spray or hand applied, including all surface preparations that meet SSPC, NACE and ISO standards. We also provide blast only services that may require them. We are capable of using many different blast media types based on job requirements and have extended experience blasting various different substrates like stainless steel and aluminum. We also specialize in the blast cleaning of old equipment or structures for inspection of weld integrity for repair and inspection purposes.

What steps is F-A-D Corporation taking to reduce its carbon footprint?

In our industry there have been many changes for the better that have directly affected the way our services can be conducted. We have made the capital expenditures many have not so that we can be sure to that we operate as eco-friendly as possible and to minimize our carbon footprint. All of the waste from our blasting processes are filtered through our blast rooms via dust collectors which allows us contain all waste into sealed drums. We also gather all of the waste from our painting processes in to sealed drums as well and annually we contract a waste disposal service that will transport the material to various disposal facilities throughout the country so that the waste can be tested and disposed of via the appropriate means per EPA regulations. All waste documentation and manifests are kept on file at our facility for our records. This added step allows our customers the ability to ensure that the process directly involved with the manufacturing of their products is done within the law and as environmentally friendly as possible.
